CASE Tools and the Human Computer Interface: Implications for Designers
نویسنده
چکیده
Human computer interaction (HC!) is a subject which software developers can ill afford to ignore, yet there is little evidence that software engineers HCl seriously. The paper sets out to describe the software engineering and HCI issues which have to be addressed, in a comparative framework of the development life cycle. From this the necessary conceptual models produced by specification methods are defined. The requirements of CASE tool for constructing conceptual models to support HCI and SE methods are outlined and the ability of CASE environments to address HCI issues is reviewed. The concluding contention is that current CASE tools, combined with HCI training for software developers could deliver results in the short teml, although to encourage HCI expertise in software design in the longer term necessitates development of knowledge based HCI CASE tools.

Background and Aims: The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and usability of human-computer interface in cervical spinal cord injury with two computer games based and EMG biofeedback. Methods: The sample size was 20 participants (healthy and spinal cervical lesions) who were selected as available. The statistical population of the study was spinal cord injury patients referred t...
متن کاملCase Study: Using ITS Style Tools to Implement IBM's CUA-2 User Interface Style
In an empirical case study of software tools, two participants used the ITS style designer’s language to implement a general purpose, executable, rule-based user interface style. This language allows style designers to select, combine and modify rule prototypes in order to construct a rule-based user interface style. The participants implemented the entire IBM CUA-2 user interface style, plus n...

User interfaces are always one of the most important applied and study fields of information technology. The development and expansion of cognitive science studies and functionalization of its tools such as BCI1, as well as popularization of methods such as SSVEP2 to stimulate brain waves, have led to using these techniques every day, especially in appropriate solutions for physically and menta...
متن کاملToward Creative 3D Modeling: an Architects' Sketches Study
This paper describes our methodology in providing designers with a new advanced 3D modeling Human-Computer Interaction. The main project – called GINA, a French acronym for Interactive and Natural Geometry – expect to introduce new intuitive and creative 3D modeling tools, relying on 2D perspective drawing reconstruction. We present here the user study we conducted and the implications of this ...
متن کاملA review on EEG based brain computer interface systems feature extraction methods
The brain – computer interface (BCI) provides a communicational channel between human and machine. Most of these systems are based on brain activities. Brain Computer-Interfacing is a methodology that provides a way for communication with the outside environment using the brain thoughts. The success of this methodology depends on the selection of methods to process the brain signals in each pha...
